A brief history
Established in 2016, Black Dog Wine Company is Western Pennsylvania’s most award-winning winery. From dry red to sweet white wine, our fruit is locally sourced from Pittsburgh-area farms and our grapes are from the Lake Erie region of Pennsylvania. We are proud that we are 100% Pennsylvania-sourced and our wines are always made on-site. Black Dog Wine Company is nestled along Steubenville Pike in Oakdale, Allegheny County in the historic and haunted Hankey Mansion, just 15 miles from Downtown Pittsburgh and 10 miles from Pittsburgh International Airport.
Black Dog Wine Company loves wine, obviously, but we are also obsessed with dogs. Owner and winemaker Mark Rozum named the winery after his first black lab, hence Black Dog Wine Company! His brood has grown and now there are four labs with the newest pup, Vino! You expected that name, right? A well-behaved pooch is always welcome here!
