A brief history
The history of Allegro Winery dates back fifty years. The short version is that Bill planted the vines in 1973, before John and Tim Crouch bought the property from him in 1978. They opened the winery in 1981 and ran it successfully until 2001, when Kris Miller and Winemaker Carl Helrich took it over. Today, Allegro has grown into one of the largest, most respected wineries in Pennsylvania, producing supple dry red and white wines, off-dry and semi-sweet wines, and playful sweet wines from Pennsylvania and East Coast fruits.
